I'll have to do this update in two parts, or it'll be extremely long. So, first and foremost, I have officially graduated from Dalhousie University :) with First Class Honours in Biology (that has a nice ring to it). I flew back from Peterborough and was on the East Coast for about thirty hours before flying back. Much too short of a visit :( but very fun nonetheless. The shuttle for the airport picked me up at 3:30 a.m., which was obscene. I didn't trust myself to wake up on time or feel alive getting up at 3:00, so I napped from 11pm-1am then got up and showered etc. So at the end of the day on Wednesday the 25th, I had been awake from 1am-1030pm. I got pretty foolish, as my family and Moragh can attest. I also got to see Mary-Claire at graduation <3, Alicia the next day before flying out :) :).

Hooray! A degree!
I was so happy to see everyone :) the dinner was fabulous and far more expensive than I was expecting. Thanks to the parents for picking up that tab :s. I logged as many hugs as I could since I don't get any up here lol. Grandfather wrote a very adorable card, remembering things from our childhood that I didn't even remember until I read it, but then they were so clear in my mind it was like it was yesterday. Darcy and Renee gave us each a Kobo e-reader, which I didn't even know I wanted until I saw it and now I don't know how I ever lived without it. It comes everywhere with me. There are 101 classics loaded on it already!! So much reading! It's great to come to the field with me for reading over lunch, and it's easy to read in bed or while eating when you don't have to turn pages! I'm reading The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes right now and loving it.It was also great to see Moragh's parents the next day at lunch :) her mother had some very pertinent and thought-provoking questions about the grassland bird research I'm doing. I hope I managed to answer intelligently.
Anyway, on to next post about the last two days of work! They've been adventures...
Sarah xoxo
